WHAT IS BLUETOOTH?
WHAT IS BLUETOOTH?
“Bluetooth”, promoted initially by Ericsson, IBM, Intel, Nokia and
Toshiba, is the code name for an open specification for short-range
wireless connectivity. The technology allows users to make
effortless, instant connections between a wide range of
communication devices. Atmel is a Special Interest Group (SIG)
member of Bluetooth.

ATMEl DEVELOPING?
DEVELOPING?
Atmel’s development is done through close cooperation of between its Wireless
& Microcontroller (responsible for the RF chip) and its Multimedia &
Communications Product Groups (responsible for the Baseband chip) Together
they do the module integration
A highly integrated module housed in a BGA package containing all ICs needed
to perform the Bluetooth function
All firmware needed up to the HCI (host controller interface), with the ability
to develop higher level protocol software upon customer request
A board reference design that contains the module, all required passives and the
antenna to obtain Bluetooth compliance certification and FCC/EU approvals
