INTEGRATED CIRCUITS 74LVC14A Hex inverting Schmitt-trigger with 5V tolerant input Product specification 1998 Apr 28 Philips Semiconductors Product specification Hex inverting Schmitt-trigger with 5V tolerant input FEATURES 74LVC14A DESCRIPTION * Wide supply voltage range of: 1.2 V to 3.6 V * In accordance with JEDEC standard no. 8-1A * Inputs accept voltages up to 5.5 V * CMOS low power consumption * Direct interface with TTL levels The 74LVC14A is a high-performance, low power, low-voltage Si-gate CMOS device and superior to most advanced CMOS compatible TTL families. Inputs can be driven from either 3.3 V or 5 V devices. This feature allows the use of these devices as translators in a mixed 3.3 V/5 V environment. The 74LVC14A provides six inverting buffers with Schmitt-trigger action. It is capable of transforming slowly changing input signals into sharply defined, jitter-free output signals. APPLICATIONS * Wave and pulse shapers for highly noisy environments * Astable multivibrators * Monostable multivibrators QUICK REFERENCE DATA GND = 0 V; Tamb = 25C; tr tf 2.5 ns PARAMETER SYMBOL tPHL/tPLH Propagation delayy g nA to nY CI Input capacitance CPD CONDITIONS TYPICAL UNIT 4 ns 3.5 pF 25 pF CL = 50 pF; VCC = 3.3 V Power dissipation capacitance per gate Notes 1 and 2 NOTES: 1. CPD is used to determine the dynamic power dissipation (PD in W) PD = CPD x VCC2 x fi (CL x VCC2 x fo) where: fi = input frequency in MHz; CL = output load capacity in pF; fo = output frequency in MHz; VCC = supply voltage in V; (CL x VCC2 x fo) = sum of the outputs. 2. The condition is VI = GND to VCC.
