Small Size (1/2” outside diameter x 1.50 LG.)
The Model 2-48 is specifically designed for use in downhole
applications. Its small size (1/2” O.D.) and rugged high
temperature and high pressure construction are ideal for well
logging, pumping, MWD, and other applications that require
a small, accurate, robust pressure sensor .
The Model 2-48 operates in +200°C (+400°F), hydraulic or
formation fluid environments at pressures up to 30,000 psi.
The Model 2-48 utilizes a Ni-Span-C helical Bourdon tube to
drive a wiper across a conductive thick-film resistive element
which creates a voltage divider that can provide an electrical
output directly proportional to the pressure applied.
The exterior wall of the Model 2-48 is vented to the environ-
ment through four holes covered by a 70µ filter element to
protect the interior mechanism from particulate matter . This
permits the Model 2-48 to be used as a differential pressure
device as well as a static pressure sensor.
The helical Bourdon tube and thick-film resistive element are
designed on an Advanced Finite Element modeling tool and
then extensively tested to validate the performance and
reliability of the device.
